Ferry Ticket System Update

Post date: Apr 27, 2018 2:12:11 AM

The ferry ticket system is in the process of a major overhaul to upgrade ticket scanning, account management, administration and data security that began late last year.  Below is the presently anticipated sequence of events from Island opening:

·         April 27 (Opening Day): A new scanning system and related operations software will be in place. The new system should be able to scan cards more efficiently and read images of purchased tickets reliably. The EZ Ride system should work as usual for EZ Ride cards and existing purchased tickets.

Note:     Access to the ferry ticketing website will be delayed until early next week.  If you urgently need to purchase a ticket or deposit funds into your account during             the down period, the office can do it for you.

·         May 1: The Ferry Ticketing website should be back on line.  The user interface will look somewhat different because of coming changes to improve functionality, but existing usernames and passwords will work and automatic account replenishment will occur as previously set up.  Navigation of the online system should be fairly straightforward, but if you have difficulty the office staff will be happy to try to help you.

·         May 7 (+/-):  The Ferry Ticketing Website will add the ability for account holders to manage their own accounts and use credit cards, debit cards or bank account transfers to add to account balances.

·         May 14 (+/-):  Credit cards and related forms of payment will be accepted for purchase of street tickets at the landing.

Please contact the office with any questions as you use the system and watch for updates as developments occur.  Thanks again for your cooperation and patience with this process.
