NEW PROPERTY OWNERS please visit the office or contact by phone or email so we can provide you a packet of information on the various processes. 

Golf Carts - RENEWALS can be done at the office or through the mail.  Please provide a copy of the registration(s) you wish to renew or by giving us the registered owners name(s) and date of birth. If you do not provide a copy of the previous registrations, please give us the name/type of golf carts you wish to renew. Proof of insurance is required. 

We can process emailed documentation. Please include a phone number to reach you. We will give you the proper fee to mail in by check. We will mail the documentation back to you at the address you provide or notify you when ready for pickup.

Golf Carts – NEW need to be done in person. Please provide your Bill of Sale or your closing agreement if the golf cart was included in your home purchase. The golf cart vehicle identification number must be included.  Indicate if the golf cart is gas or electric and provide the color and make. Proof of insurance is required. 

We can process emailed documentation as well. Please include a phone number to reach you.  We will tell you what the fee is and have you come to the office to sign the appropriate documentation to complete the registration. Your Golf Cart is required to have a working horn, lights, rearview mirror and the Lot Number displayed on the rear of the golf cart.

UTV – RENEWALS can be done online at:  https://moses.informe.org/online/atv_snow/index.htm. The State of Maine will process the registration and mail it to you at the address listed on the registration in a couple of weeks.  Until you receive it there will be a document that you can download as proof of re-registration.  If the address is incorrect or one you do not receive mail at, please call the Town Office to process your renewal. 

You can do a renewal in person or through the mail with our office by providing a copy of the registration you wish to renew or giving us the registered owners name(s) and date of birth. Please include proof of insurance. Call or email the office and we will give you the proper fee to mail in by check. We will mail the documentation back to you at the address you provide or notify  you to pick up from the office window. 

UTVS must be registered with the Town and display the Lot Number (not the street address) of the owner prominently on the front and rear of the vehicle.

UTV – New must be done in person.  Please provide your Bill of Sale or your closing agreement if the vehicle was included in your home purchase. The vehicle identification number must be included. Proof of insurance required.

Boat Registration - RENEWALS can be done through the mail or by visiting our office by providing a copy of the registration(s) you wish to renew or giving us the registered owners name(s) and date of birth. If you do not provide a copy of the previous registrations, please give us the name/type of boats you wish to renew. Registration numbers for each boat is helpful if you have those available. Call or email the office and we will give you the proper fee to mail in by check. We will mail the documentation back to you at the address you provide or notify when ready for you to pick up from the office.

Boat Registration – NEW must be done in person. Please provide your Bill of Sale or your closing agreement if the boat was included in your home purchase. The boat identification serial number must be included. Indicate the horsepower of the engine, length, hull material, whether it is an open bow, closed bow or pontoon, color and make of the boat. We can process emailed documentation. Please include a phone number to reach you as well.  We will tell you what the fee is and have you come to the office to sign the appropriate documentation to complete the registration. 

Note*: If your boat is being kept at the Marina, Quail or Mooring Slips we will require proof of insurance as well.

Motor Vehicle (automobiles, trucks and trailers)-RENEWALS can be done  online if you do not have any changes to the information on the registration you can go to:  https://www1.maine.gov/online/bmv/rapid-renewal/.  The State of Maine will process the registration and mail it to you at the address listed on the registration in a couple of weeks. Until you receive it there will be a document that you can download as proof of re-registration.  You will also need to have your insurance and mileage available. 

Renewals can also be processed in person or by mail. If you have address changes you will need to renew through our office. Please provide a copy of the registration(s) you wish to renew or give us the registered owners name(s) and date of birth. If you do not provide a copy of the previous registration(s), please give us the name/type of vehicles you wish to renew. In addition, proof of insurance is required and current mileage. We accept emailed documentation as well. Call or email the office and we will give you the proper fee to mail in by check. We will mail the documentation back to you at the address you provide or notify when ready for pickup.

Motor Vehicle (automobiles, trucks and trailers)-NEW must be done through the office. For autos and trucks please provide the Bill of Sale, Title or Title Application, proof of insurance and mileage to the office. For trailers a Bill of Sale needs to be provided. Vehicle identification numbers must be included on the Bill of Sale. 

We also accept emailed documentation on all items except titles as well. You will have to put the titles in the drop box or bring it with you when you come to the office to complete the transaction.  We need the signed title on all cars and trucks 1995 and newer to submit to the State of Maine.  When providing the information on the cars and trucks we will also need to know the GVW (Gross Vehicle Weight), whether it is gas or diesel, color of the vehicle and what type of vehicle it is (2 door, 4 door, utility vehicle or pickup truck).  On trailers we will need to know the number of axles, number of tires and GVW (Gross Vehicle Weight).  We will tell you what the fee is and have you come to the office to sign the appropriate documentation to complete the registration.  All registrants on the title need to be present to sign the documentation.

Fishing/Game Licenses can be done at the office or online at:  https://moses.informe.org/cgi-bin/online/moses_v3/index.

Boat Slip Fees can be done in person at the town office, mailed to the office, or placed in the drop box outside the office. Include your slip number in the memo field of your check and a copy of your insurance. If done by mail or drop box, we will mail your boat sticker to you after we receive the payment.  Please email us the address you need the sticker mailed or if you prefer to pickup in person.

Dog Licenses can be done at the office or through the mail.  Please bring/email a copy of the current rabies certificate and a contact number where you can be reached if we have any questions.  When complete the office will contact you to pick up the tags.

Forwarding Mail from your other address to the Island must be done using the E911 address which can be found in the Public Documents Folder on the Website.  The document is entitled E911 list as of 10-17-2019 ALPHABETICAL. 

Directory - PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION IN THE DIRECTORY IS UP TO DATE. It is important for the office to have your most up to date email, phone numbers and your off island mailing address. You can verify the information by emailing the office.

Marriage Licenses please visit the office or contact via phone or email to get information on the process.

Post Office Keys must be done in person.  Please contact our office if you are interested.  $25 per key

Tax Payments can be mailed to the office or placed in the drop box outside the office.  Please include the lot number(s) on the check.  If you wish to have the receipt mailed to you, please let us know.

Transfer of Equity Slips/Notary Services please contact the Office to make arrangements.

Ferry Accounts – EXISTING Please ensure that there are enough funds in your account before arriving at the Frye Island Ferry line.  You can replenish your account online https://ferry.fryeisland.com/ using either your checking account information or a credit card.  In addition, please verify your account numbers for your automatic bank account withdrawals and automatic credit card deposits to your ferry account. Many people change/close their accounts through the winter and do not realize that they have not updated their ferry account. A fee is automatically charged for insufficient funds or inaccurate account information. You can also mail a check to the office to replenish your account or place a check in the drop box.

Ferry Accounts - NEW can be done by email.  Please email the office if you are a new property owner (have not received a tax bill from Frye Island) and attach your closing documents.  We will email you the application (applications if you need more than 1 EZ-Pass card for other family members) which you need to complete and send back.  We will create your account and provide you instructions on accessing your account.  Once logged in you will need to deposit an initial $150.00 to the account. Your deposit to your account can be made by entering your checking account routing and account number or using a credit card number. Please note there is a 3% fee to use a credit card to deposit funds in your ferry account. You can also set up an automatic replenishment for your ferry account once you have logged in. When you have deposited money in the account you can download and print tickets to come across on the ferry.  Please call the office when you come across so we can produce your EZ-Pass card(s) and have them ready for you.

Golf Memberships/Trail Fees can be done with our office in person, through the mail or you can put them in the drop box outside the office.  Please check the Winter Newsletter for any changes in the fees for the year 2020. The newsletter can be accessed on the Frye Island Town website at http://www.fryeisland.com/landing/announcements/revisedwinternewsletter
